One of the last chances. I have a tumblr account which is just for crossposting so Tumblr people can keep up to date with me if they can’t be bothered to use an RSS reader.

I am leaving Tumblr, please message me if you want a link to my new blog. If I know you in real life then please don’t be offended when I don’t reply.

• People who write a lot about privilege and cultural appropriation
• Mostly modified people who don’t care about cultural appropriation and are into “modern primitive”
• Straight edge people
• All kinds of drug users
• Militant vegans
• Non-vegans who write about cultural biases within veganism
• Antitheists
• People who post about wicca
• Anarchists
• People who just repost stuff from punknews
• One or two GNU/Linux users
• People I know in real life that probably object to seeing my bare chest

The majority of the people that follow me fit into one or more of these categories or variations of them. I’m more than interested in engaging in conversation about the issues that I’m passionate about but I hate that Tumblr no longer feels like a particularly safe place to voice my opinions. 

The reality is that I can respect someone as a person without respecting each and every one of their viewpoints. I’m fed up of walking on eggshells but the reality is that if I only had contact with people whose views and interests lined up exactly with mine then I wouldn’t be in contact with anyone. Even if I could surround myself with people who were idealogically identical to me I don’t think that would be healthy. I appreciate being called out if someone has an issue with what I’m saying and I think the biggest division is between people who are willing to participate in meaningful dialogue and those who are not. 

I don’t however always have the energy to discuss my thoughts fully; not on an open platform such as Tumblr where there can be dozens of participants in a conversation, all with different viewpoints. There is no such thing as threaded discussion on Tumblr and sometimes it feels like standing in the middle of a dozen people all shouting at each other. I’m definitely not saying that we should never shout at each other and I think that conflict can be a positive thing in the right environment as an platform for discussion I think Tumblr leaves a lot to be desired.

Note: I have consciously left out certain groups of people. I will not engage, for example, with anyone whose agenda is anti-LGBT, ableist, anti-choice or racist amongst many other things. Not because I don’t think they are issues worth discussing but because I cannot mentally cope with talking to such people.

This Tumblr account will cease to be operative within the next 24 hours. My new blog is up and running.

Oh, also, quick rant; I have been waiting for my pay for, er, three weeks? My boss finally gave me a cheque thursday last week but it’s still not available in my account. Does that mean there are no available funds in his account? I need access to my wages ASAP and this is getting more than a bit frustrating. I’ve never really deposited cheques before, every job I’ve had has either been cash in hand or paid directly into my account.
I’m 21 in a few weeks which means that minimum wage goes up which I’ve been looking forward to for a while. My boss has recently taken on 3 new members of staff who are all under 18- bearing in mind that until a month ago I was the only and newest employee having started about 3 years ago. I’m terrified that when I turn 21 I’ll lose my job because it’ll be cheaper to employ multiple under-18s. Has this happened to any of you? 

Also, according to HMRC I owe them £5k and I earn over £60k a year. News to me.

This ring is bloody heavy but it’s also really comfortable and secure and I know I’m not going to feel safe wearing it outside but I love it anyway.

Also, really pleased with myself for following through with daily pressups, I can already feel the difference. I’m tired of struggling when I’m fencing.

I miss and love you all! I’m sorry that I take ages to reply to everything, I’m not online much at the moment. I’m thinking about moving away from Tumblr to something else. Seriously considering going back to LiveJournal. Erm, what else is going on in my life? I have 164 calendar days left until the end of college!
